Dr. Paul Piontkowski
Dr. Paul K. Piontkowski is the Director of The Washington TMJ & Sleep Therapy Center. For nearly three decades he has successfully treated thousands of patients suffering from TMJ & Sleep related disorders with conservative, non-surgical treatments.
Dr. Piontkowski graduated from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1984 in the top 10% of his class and received three of Georgetown’s top awards for Excellence, Outstanding Achievement and Performance. He then entered into a formal residency in the diagnosis and management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and advanced restorative dentistry to successfully treat patients with these complex problems.
In 1985, Dr. Piontkowski became the Co-Founder of The Washington TMJ Center
which is now known today as The Washington TMJ & Sleep Therapy Center.
His practice is dedicated to treating patients suffering from chronic head,
neck, and facial pain due to underlying TMJ disorders as well as patients with
sleep breathing disorders including snoring and obstructive sleep apnea due to poor jaw and tongue position during sleep. Regardless of how minimal or extensive the therapy, Dr. Piontkowski personally coordinates and supervises each patient until the disorder has been resolved.
Dr. Piontkowski continues to lecture regularly, educating his professional colleagues on the diagnosis and treatment of TMJ & Sleep disorders. He is a member of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Piontkowski is licensed as a dentist in Maryland and serves the greater Washington, DC Metro Area.
