Dr. Paul Piontkowski

Dr. Paul K. Piontkowski graduated from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1984 in the top 10% of his class and received three of Georgetown’s top awards for Excellence, Outstanding Achievement and Performance, as well as being inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society.

Upon graduation, he entered a residency in the diagnosis and management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and advanced restorative dentistry to treat patients with these problems. After completion of his residency, he embarked upon his dental career in private practice and as a part-time clinical instructor at Georgetown University School of Dentistry.

In 1985 Dr. Piontkowski became the Co-Founder of The Washington TMJ Center where he continues to treat patients suffering with chronic head, neck, and facial pain due to underlying TMJ disorders. He has successfully treated thousands of acute and chronic pain sufferers with conservative and non-invasive treatments. Regardless of how minimal or extensive the therapy, Dr. Piontkowski personally coordinates and supervises each patient until the disorder has been resolved.

He lectures regularly and is often called upon to provide expert testimony in legal cases involving patients with TMJ disorders caused by auto accidents or other trauma to the jaw.

Dr. Piontkowski is a licensed dentist in the state of Maryland.
